Carolina Adler is an Environmental Scientist and Geographer. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation and relevant policy processes for sustainable development in mountain regions. Executive Director of the Mountain Research Initiative (MRI), she is tasked with coordinating scientific research and networks on global change in mountains. Research Fellow at the Transdisciplinarity Lab (TdLab) in Switzerland, and President of the UIAA’s Mountain Protection Commission, she shares her expertise through mountaineering. She also serves as a current Lead Author for the “High Mountains” chapter of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) special report on oceans and cryosphere (SROCC), due in 2019.
