Irène Alvarez is the programme director at Chamonix Research Centre for Alpine Ecosystems (CREA Mont-Blanc). This organisation, founded in 1996, offers her the commitment and freedom to act that she loves. She is also a mountain guide, promoting the scientific discovery of the mountains via participative science and observation. As a political science graduate from Georgetown University (USA), she previously worked in the field of wildlife conservation in Africa.

Brad Carlson

Brad Carlson is a researcher at the Chamonix Research Centre for Alpine Ecosystems (CREA Mont-Blanc). He combines monitoring work in the field with remote detection to study vegetation dynamics in the Mont-Blanc mountains. Despite his American origins, Brad fell in the love with the Alps as a student, presenting his thesis at the laboratory of alpine ecology in Grenoble in 2016. He is an apprentice high mountain guide, deeply committed to sharing and discovering the mountain regions.
